Google Introduces My Account To Manage the Personal Info Google Collects About You
Google has introduced a new dashboard called My Account to make it easier to handle your privacy and security settings within its services. The tool lets you see what information the company is collecting when using Google.com, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Play, Hangouts, YouTube and others.
Everyone who has a Google account can check out the new My Account page and the checkup tools at myaccount.google.com. On the landing page of the My Account service, there are three sections: “Sign-in & security,” “Personal info & privacy” and “Account preferences.” The first two are where you’ll find the step-by-step checkups for privacy and security settings you can use to get a quick understanding of what your current privacy and security choices are. You can change your settings within the tool.
The My Account dashboard has also an option to delete your entire Google account, and extract your data in the process.
Later on, we will have a detailed walk-through tutorial on how to manage and control your privacy and security on Google.
